Graditz *E*
April 1975 ~ June 2001
|
|
"One
of the most popular and successful stallions with the ATA."
|
|
| |
A premium stallion at the 1977 Neumunster approvals, Graditz
*E*
was performance tested in 1978 at Medingen. The German
book provides the following remarks: "Extremely
beautiful in all parts. Finely chiseled head, good neck,
best overall topline, somewhat light in bone, good hocks,
first-class mover, especially at the trot". Graditz
stood at Medingen for one season and then was imported
to the U.S. in 1980 by Henry Schrink.
Graditz sired nine ATA approved stallions. Two
of the stallions are proven show jumpers -
Advocate *Ps* and Tzigene *Pb*. He
also left behind two approved grandsons;
the ATA stallion
Tradition *Pb* by Butow *E* out of
Taurose *M* by Graditz. (Taurose' dam is
Tapferkeit, Timotheus'
dam). In addition, Graditz produced
forty-four plus stud book daughters. |

His
sire Rondo, passed his 100 day test with the best training
scores of the group, and finished 6th overall. Rondo's
exceptional rideability and outstanding athleticism received him lots
of praise, He was successful at lower levels in dressage and
Hunter tests before his true talent was discovered and he won and
placed at S level in show jumping. Three Trakehner sons were
approved over the years. Graditz, the excellent sport horse
sire Arthus, and the International Grand Prix dressage winner
E.H. Friedensfurst.

Graditz grandsire, Schabernack stood at stud in South Germany
at the famous Stud Marback in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg.
He had twelve approved sons, but Rondo was by far the best and
most important son. The true value of Schabernack came through
his many daughters, among them Konstanz (dam of Kolumbus by
Habicht) and Isola, (material dam of Inge by
Radom).
